Keep Your Memories Alive
Ever talk to a young child who "remembers" something that happened when she was two? She's looked at a family album dozens of times during bedtime books, and she's formed memories. Something suspicious happens when we take a trip or have baby. Our brains can behave like two-year-olds, and things tend to get blurry. But when we hold our stories in our hands–touch them, look at them, breathe them in–our minds learn to hold on too.
WHY DESIGN AN ALBUM?
You just received your gallery and you're in love with your photos, especially that one with your babe kicking her feet up in the air in her crib. Everything's been a blur since she was born, and you're so grateful that you'll have these photos to remember the craziness by.
Fast forward five years and those photos have remained unseen on a hard drive. You're glad you have them. Totally. But you hardly think of them, even though your heart heaves a huge sigh at the thought of your baby starting kindergarten.
Technology is great, but not always reliable. But most importantly, you'll have a tangible product you can touch, feel, and breathe in. You'll get to relive your photos. And not only are you allowing those memories to sink in all the more, you're choosing to create something you can pass onto your children.
A great deal time, care and attention to detail goes into the album creation process. The goal in designing an album is to combine my creativity with your ideas in a collaborative effort to create an incredible heirloom. Let's work together to create a family treasure.
THE DESIGN PROCESS
You'll choose an album size, spread count, cover color & type, and cover personalizations in your album order form.
I'll create a favorites list in your online gallery where you'll be able to select your images. I recommend starting with a favorites list of 35-40 images for a standard 8x8, 10-spread album.
I'll get to work designing and will send you a digital version of your spreads. You'll review the first draft and approve the general layout. You can also choose to swap out images.
You'll review your album one more time before we hit the send button. Your final approval is required prior to sending to print. After submitting an album, no changes can be made.
Your album will also be traveling to us from the heart of Europe! I also perform a final quality check before sending it or hand delivering it to you. Plan for a 6-8 week turnaround time.

Classic & Simple
I won't try to cram too many images on one page. It's tempting to "make the most" of each page, but this actually makes it more difficult to enjoy your images.
Cohesive & Clean
I won't mix too many colors on a single spread (I'll stick to the same scene). And I won't place black & white and color images on the same spread. Consistency is my goal.
You'll choose your absolute favorite image to place on the cover and help me decide on 2-3 lines of text.

Wait so, what's the difference?
I'm a thrifter and always up for a deal, so I understand the desire to be mindful of your budget, probably too much so. But it's important to understand what you're paying for. Here are the differences between premium, professional grade albums and standard photo books:
All albums prices include the first 10 spreads and shipping
Longevity of premium albums is 80+ years vs. 60+ years for photo books
No images can be places across the fold for photo books
Photo books only available in Flores Fabric
Print quality of premium albums is fantastic, with a scratch and fingerprint resistant finish
Photo books have subtle coloring differences
There's only one personalization option included in the price for photo books (a heart shape embossed in gold) whereas premium albums can be ordered with any mix of personalizations (embossing, cameo, overprint) at no additional cost
