The Haagensons make this parenting thing look easy. Key word = LOOK. I know it's not easy. But attitudes and perspective and knowing how to soak in that joy goes such a long way. I loved watching how they melted into their Saturday morning, casually sipping their coffee as their kiddos played (not caring one bit when coffee spilled all over their couch because they were distracted with me). This is what makes my heart sing about lifestyle shoots: The simple life and seeing the good in it. Plus, I got to spend some time in Minneapolis, which will always hold a piece of my heart. Just because we moved to the burbs, doesn't mean we still don't love the city!
An obstacle I overcame during this shoot: I adjusted to constant changes in lighting. With two kids on the move, the lighting situation can change quickly and you have to be able to adjust your camera settings accordingly. We spent time shooting in the living room, dining room, and bedroom, which all had different lighting. And it's crazy how much I end up needing to adjust my settings just from a slight change in angle! The only way to work in fast moving situations is to know your camera in and out, understand light, and have some fast fingers!
