FAMILY DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY
Looking for the Perfectly Posed Family Portrait? You've Come to the Wrong Place.
Documentary photography is incredibly laid-back. The emphasis is not on perfect positioning, eyes to the camera, or smiling on cue. The more it feels like we're just hanging out in your space, the better!
These are my absolute favorite photos to create. It's about capturing the perfection of what's already ther, not about planning and posing.
FAMILY STORY SESSIONS
MOMENTS THAT MATTER
I love helping people see the beauty of what's already there, without fluff of neatly folded hands or strain and stuffiness of "cheese." Nothing staged. No rules.
PLACES THAT MATTER
Taking photos at a family's favorite hiking spot, on their hobby farm, or in their backyard not only leads to a more comfortable photo taking experience, but also photos that have emotional significance.
THE IN-BETWEEN
Some of my all-time favorite pictures are the ones taken when nothing is planned and one is expecting it. The first photo I take after the session is "done." The in-between. The one they didn't know I took.

"Despite our awkwardness, our family pictures turned out perfect!"
